La Vuardaz is also intended to be a meeting place where people from different backgrounds and with different perspectives can come together, learn from one another and work together to contribute to a more peaceful world.
The old linden tree in front of La Vuardaz is a symbol of peace and community. For centuries, linden trees have been associated with places of gathering; as ‘dancing linden trees’, they were also venues for music, dance and communal celebrations. This connection is particularly close to my heart, as I believe dancing is one of the most beautiful ways of connecting with one another – regardless of language, background or cultural boundaries.
With the planned renovation of the entire roof and the simultaneous conversion of the attic, this vision is set to be given further scope in future. A space for cultural and creative activities is to be created in the attic – with a special area dedicated to dance and music, but also for encounters, exchange and education. This is where projects and events will take place that bring people together, promote dialogue and contribute to a more peaceful world.
I look forward to welcoming you here.
